Sara believes good design can also achieve social good. Since 2005 she has devoted her time to creating unique spaces for low income families in the Bronx. Two of these projects are Woodycrest House, an apartment building for women with HIV/AIDS and their children and Marcello Manor, a building that provides homes for low income domestic violence survivors. She has most recently become a founding member of desigNYC, which is taking the concept Sara has been applying all these years to a new and greater level, connecting a wide range of designers with non-profit and community groups in need of their services.
